Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty members; Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students; Develop and review academic programmes; Supervise postgraduate research projects and theses; Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals; Prepare, moderate, and mark examinations; Participate in strategic planning and departmental development; Assist in quality assurance and accreditation processes; Mentor junior faculty and students in research and professional development; Participate in resource mobilization and collaborative research initiatives; Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department. Qualifications and Experience Applicants must possess: An earned PhD in the relevant field from a recognized university: PhD in Old Testament Studies; PhD in Systematic Theology, Historical Theology, or related field; PhD in Religious Studies or related discipline. A Master’s degree with a minimum average score of B+ or equivalent in the relevant field; A Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Upper Division or a minimum GPA of 3.0 from a recognized university; KCSE mean grade of C+ or equivalent qualification; Minimum of nine (9) years of university teaching and research experience, including at least three (3) years at the rank of Senior Lecturer or equivalent; Significant record of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals; Evidence of successful supervision of postgraduate students; Demonstrated academic leadership and contribution to curriculum development; Evidence of participation in funded research projects, consultancies, or grant-supported academic initiatives will be an added advantage; Meets the University requirements for appointment and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor; Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable; Ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church; Active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in regular standing; Demonstrated commitment to Adventist philosophy of education and values; Ability to integrate faith and learning in accordance with the philosophy, mission, and values of Seventh-day Adventist higher education; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, E-Learning platforms, Internet applications, and relevant statistical software. go to method of application »
