Qualifications and Experience University degree or equivalent in Taxonomy, botany or plant sciences Demonstrable Knowledge of Kenyan biodiversity and indigenous medicinal plants Demonstrated Proficiency in herbarium preservation techniques and database management Demonstrated experience in medicinal plant propagation and processing Computer literacy. Duties & Responsibilities: Managing and maintaining the university's medicinal garden. Propagate and maintain living collections of medicinal plants in the medicinal garden Assisting in the identification and classification of medicinal plants for research purposes. Train and supervise students and technicians in herbarium practices, specimen curation and propagation, and processing of medicinal plants Facilitate departmental research by preparing specimens and providing taxonomic identifications Conduct field expeditions to collect medicinal plant vouchers Curating the departmental herbarium, including the collection and preservation of plant specimens. go to method of application »
