In this role you drive and guide guests on game drives to a consistent luxury standard, and you lead the driver/guide team day to day. You know the Toyota Land Cruiser in the bush, you hold guests safely, and the department stays organised while the lead seat is open. This is a live-in role with rotational leave.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive and guide game drives and camp transfers in a Toyota Land Cruiser, safely and on time.
  • Lead the driver/guide team: briefing, allocation, standards, and follow-through.
  • Deliver a calm, accurate, guest-first safari: wildlife, park rules, and the story of Tsavo West.
  • Keep the vehicle roadworthy: pre-departure checks and routine bush mechanics.
  • Coordinate with camp operations so departures, meals, and guest movements stay on the programme.
  • Handle guest questions and complaints quickly, professionally, and with follow-through.
  • Protect guests, vehicles, and camp property. Report incidents the same day.
  • Keep trip notes and end-of-shift reporting accurate.

Requirements

  • Valid KPSGA certification. Silver preferred. Bronze considered where the guiding record is strong and the person can lead a small team.
  • Valid TRA guide licence.
  • Valid NTSA smart driving licence, light-vehicle B classes, and a current NTSA PSV badge.
  • Current Certificate of Good Conduct (DCI) and medical certificate, as required for the PSV badge and the vehicle licence.
  • Solid, current experience driving 4x4 safari vehicles (Toyota Land Cruiser) and doing routine bush mechanics.
  • Able to take day-to-day leadership of the driver/guide team.
  • Fluent English, spoken and written.
  • Willing to live in at camp, work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, and follow a rotational leave pattern.

Nice to have:

  • German or another foreign language.
  • Safari camp or luxury lodge guiding.

Benefits

  • Work in a renowned luxury safari camp inside Tsavo West National Park.
  • A real lead seat: you run the driver/guide team day to day.
  • Close collaboration with camp leadership in a high-standard team.
  • Career growth within Severin Hotels.
  • Competitive live-in package aligned with experience, including rotational leave.
