Role Description
- The Human Resources Legal Manager will oversee HR policies, employee relations, and employment-law compliance to ensure the organization operates in line with Kenyan labor laws and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor and employment laws.
- Advise management on HR-related legal and employee matters.
- Manage disciplinary, grievance, and employee relations processes.
- Ensure legally compliant recruitment, onboarding, and employment documentation.
- Conduct HR compliance audits and maintain required documentation.
- Deliver training on HR policies, employment law, and compliance.
- Liaise with external legal counsel when required.
- Prepare HR compliance reports and regulatory documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in HR, HR Legal, or a related management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan Labor and Employment Law and HR compliance.
- Proven experience in employee relations, disciplinary and grievance management.
- Strong HR policy development and implementation experience.
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
- High level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- HR or legal professional certification is an added advantage.
