Job Summary This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Hydrology Function The cadre is responsible for identifying, mapping and developing of surface water monitoring network; constructing, installing and maintaining hydrological stations; collecting surface water data, analyzing and preparing hydrological reports. Duties and Responsibilities will entail: Compiling data, cleaning, analysing for preparation of technical reports and other documentation regarding hydrological work; Evaluating hydrological reports and advising on the viability of water use projects for surface water allocation under the supervision of a senior officer; Assessing hydrometric stations and recommending rehabilitation requirements; Undertaking spatial analysis of surface water resources and preparing reports; Compiling and preparing the data for development of rating equations for river monitoring stations; Evaluation of hydrological reports for permit applications; and Performing hydrological computations, data cleaning, analyses and report writing. Job Specifications For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have: Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Hydrology, water and environmental engineering, civil engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and Proficiency in computer applications. go to method of application »
