Requirements for Appointment:
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Lecturer, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy, MSc. Pharmacology & Toxicology or Master of Pharmacy – Pharmacology
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience;
- Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable; and
- Evidence of membership or affiliation of the relevant professional body where applicable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An individual appointed as a Lecturer shall:
- Teach and asses courses in one’s discipline at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Supervise undergraduate students’ projects and other experimental learning programmes;
- Supervise dissertations/theses at postgraduate level;
- Participate in the development/review of undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
- Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;
- Provide professional and community services, and initiate strategic training and research partnerships and linkages, and undertake fundraising for the university; and
- Carry out administrative and such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
