Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining updated inventory
- Responsible for overall maintenance of equipment and facilities within the designated work station ensuring they are in good working condition and order
- Cleanliness, organization and general layout of the work station
- Responsible for issuing and receiving tools and equipment to and from trainers and trainees
- Reporting to section heads on delays, problems, materials equipment needed and progress on practical requisitions
- Preparation and assembly of practical materials
- Ensuring safety of the workshop and equipment
- Responsible for supervising and ensuring safety measures amongst trainees and any attachees in the workshop
- Carrying out maintenance in other areas within the institute for which he/she is knowledgeable and is called upon to do so
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Must have at least 3 years' experience with a reputable institution
- Knowledge in operating Milling and Lathe Machines (Both conventional and CNC)
- Certificate in welding and fabrication is an added advantage
- Registered with Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)
- Must be computer literate
- Above the age of 25 years
