Role Description

• This part-time Online Courses Instructional Designer role is a hybrid position based in Nairobi County, Kenya, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
• The Instructional Designer will design, develop, and update online courses that support business owners in building practical skills for growth. Day-to-day tasks include conducting needs assessments, defining learning objectives, structuring course outlines, and creating engaging learning materials such as scripts, presentations, activities, and assessments.
• The role also involves working with subject matter experts, optimizing content for different learning platforms, and assessing learner feedback and performance data to improve course quality.
• The Instructional Designer will ensure that all content is clear, inclusive, and aligned with Amara Capital Limited’s standards and brand.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles for online and blended courses.
• Proficiency in e-learning tools and platforms (e.g., LMS systems, authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, or similar solutions).
• Ability to create clear course materials, including lesson plans, scripts, presentations, and assessments tailored to business-focused audiences.
• Experience in analyzing learner needs, evaluating course effectiveness, and using feedback and data to refine learning experiences.
• Good collaboration and communication skills for working with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects in a part-time, hybrid work setting.
• Familiarity with business topics such as entrepreneurship, operations, finance, marketing, or growth strategies is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
