Job Specifications Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:- Ensuring continuity of computer system services for computer users by providing the technical expertise; supervising the installation of computer software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems; Participating in the testing of new technology; Verifying change requests and specifications and recommending appropriate action; Installing computer hardware operating systems and applications/systems; Configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications/systems; Participating in testing and evaluation of new technologies; Assessing the risks associated with ICT changes; Updating central e-records of assets of MCDAs; Monitoring and maintaining computer systems/applications and networks of MCDAs including emails, websites and database systems; Troubleshooting hardware, software and network faults; Participating in preparing documents, manuals and reports; Advising ICT Users on specifications and quality of ICT resources such as including printers, computers and other accessories; Logging, analyzing and resolving minor incidents and customer queries; Receiving and referring complex ICT issues to appropriate offices; and Preparing regular reports on ICT queries and responses from end users. Job Specification Personal Specifications For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: At least five(5) years relevant work experience in Public Service or Private Sector; Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Masters degree in any of the following:- Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, Software engineering or related field Professional Diploma/Certificate in the related field; Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from recognized institution; Met provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results. go to method of application »
