Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Business Growth

  • Offer strategic leadership and direction of the Bank's Amanah business in line with the Bank's overall strategic intentions and business plans.
  • Grow the Islamic Banking client and revenue base through the formulation and marketing of appropriate Shari'ah-compliant financial solutions.
  • Forecast, plan, implement, and monitor all Islamic Banking sales initiatives, manage expenditure within the set budget, and proactively address variances between budget and actual performance.

Client Relationship Management

  • Proactively lead the acquisition and development of long-term client relationships within the market to achieve excellence in customer service and loyalty.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all main Islamic Banking clients, building effective cross-functional relationships within the Department/Bank to deliver effective service.
  • Foster strong and robust relationships with all stakeholders of the Bank, including shareholders, customers, regulators, and the community at large.

Product Development and Innovation

  • Ensure regular product innovation and delivery to the market to meet customer needs on a timely basis.
  • Develop initiatives aimed at cost minimization within the department that also increase customer convenience and service standards.

Risk and Operations Management

  • Oversee product and transactions management, incident management, problem management, change management, customer service management, and operational risk management within the department.
  • Ensure credit risk management is maintained and the book at risk is kept at acceptable levels.
  • Establish a management and communications structure with respective teams to ensure operational actions are executed at all times.

Reporting and Governance

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting for the Islamic Banking business.

Team Leadership and People Management

  • Coach and mentor the team, adopting best practices in people and performance management in line with HR policies, with the aim of developing a high-performing team.

Other Requirements

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Economics, or any other business-related field from a recognized institution. (Essential)
  • An MBA qualification will be an added advantage. (Desirable)
  • A professional qualification in Banking and Credit Management will be an added advantage. (Desirable)

Experience Requirements

  • At least 10 years' experience in business development within the banking sector/financial industry.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a management position, preferably within an Islamic Banking sales environment.
  • Technical expertise and knowledge of bank products.
  • Experience in service/relationship management.
