  • Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 42,500 - Ksh 80,000 p.m.
  • House allowance: Kshs. 10,000
  • Commuter allowance: Kshs. 12,000
  • Leave allowance: Kshs. 4,000 (Annually)
  • Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable
  • Reporting to: Senior Trainer Marine Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities entail

  • Designing, developing and delivering of training programmes.
  • The development of Maritime Education and Training (MET) policies.
  • Developing and reviewing curriculum.
  • Developing the school calendar and time-tabling.
  • The development, evaluation of teaching, learning and assessment materials.
  • Supervising trainees’ practical sessions, Trade Projects and Business plans.
  • Marking internal examinations.
  • Maintaining students’ attendance and performance records.
  • Ensuring workshop equipment are well maintained and in working condition.

 Required Qualification
For appointment to this grade, a staff must have: -

  • Relevant sea time / sea service experience will be an added advantage.
  • Approval by Kenya Maritime Authority would be an added advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from a University recognized in Kenya;
  • Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) – Regulation III/1 Certificate of Competency (CoC); Second Engineer – Regulation III/3 (Limited to 750–3,000 kW) Certificate of Competency.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • f. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
