- Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 42,500 - Ksh 80,000 p.m.
- House allowance: Kshs. 10,000
- Commuter allowance: Kshs. 12,000
- Leave allowance: Kshs. 4,000 (Annually)
- Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable
- Reporting to: Senior Trainer Marine Engineering
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities entail
- Designing, developing and delivering of training programmes.
- The development of Maritime Education and Training (MET) policies.
- Developing and reviewing curriculum.
- Developing the school calendar and time-tabling.
- The development, evaluation of teaching, learning and assessment materials.
- Supervising trainees’ practical sessions, Trade Projects and Business plans.
- Marking internal examinations.
- Maintaining students’ attendance and performance records.
- Ensuring workshop equipment are well maintained and in working condition.
Required Qualification
For appointment to this grade, a staff must have: -
- Relevant sea time / sea service experience will be an added advantage.
- Approval by Kenya Maritime Authority would be an added advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from a University recognized in Kenya;
- Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) – Regulation III/1 Certificate of Competency (CoC); Second Engineer – Regulation III/3 (Limited to 750–3,000 kW) Certificate of Competency.
